This scholarship, named after the first President of the Environmental Education Foundation—Thomas J. Cashman—is made available by the Environmental Education Foundation, Inc. The EEF is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of environmental education and /or the creation of awareness to environmental problems in the Geneva Lakes area. This is done primarily through the awarding of scholarships to local students.

The scholarship awards up to $5,000 annually to students registered and actively involved in a natural sciences post-graduate degree program at an accredited college or university. Candidate’s academic record, professional goals, relevant work experience and past or present Geneva Lake area residency are all considered by the scholarship committee in making their selection. Students must be enrolled for at least what the college or university considers half time. Annual application is required.
